The Dharavi slum was the setting for the film Slumdog Millionaire, and has one of highest population densities in the world - 500,000 people per square kilometre. Conditions are extremely poor and lack basic human needs such as clean water and sanitation.
There are, however, some stories of hope and determination that have come out of Dharavi, including residents' opportunistic business ventures.
